I am in total disagreement with this occuring. This is the problem with our society right now. We all want an easy way out. As a mother of 2 young children, one a little girl, I would not want her first of all to give in to having sex. If the gentleman she decides to date, he should be open to waiting if he respects my daughter and understands the importance of abstinence. We must educate our children at home about the consequences that occur with having sex before marriage. It is not only about pregnancy about STDs as well. The morals of society just does not exist anymore. Society things it is okay for children to be having sex and support it by taking young girls to start taking the pill to avoid pregnancy but forget about other protection. I pray that this does not occur and as a Catholic woman and mother I will definitely put my 2 cents in the legislation and assure that I educate my fellow parishoners on this as well. No child, and I say this because a 17 year old does not have the mentality of an adult no matter what the age, should feel uncomfortable or go behind a parent's back to obtain this nonsense. Even if my child would come to me and say that she was pregnant, I would support her and be against this pill.

A gene is not indicative of an action. Those with diabetes still choose to eat something that spikes their sugar. The gene of addiction still needs an action to activate it, just cuz one has the gene does not justify behaviors. We always have a choice.
